2025 Experimental Balloon & Airship Association Meet

  • Post Mills Airport 104 Robinson Hill Road Post Mills, VT, 05058 United States (map)

Once again, experimental homebuilders and enthusiasts from all over the world are welcome to Post Mills Airport for a weekend of flying and fun.

This year, a few new events will be introduced in addition to the usual activities.

The First Edition of the World Hot Air Airship Championships of Post Mills will take place on the mornings of the 17th and 18th. Experimental Airships of all sizes and configurations are welcome to enter this 2 day competition.  There will be two challenges to test pilots' maneuvering skills.

Participating, non-motorized aircraft may contest the Boland Challenge, a scavenger hunt style competition that will test pilots' creativity and propensity for fun over the four planned flying slots (Fri PM, Sat AM & PM, Sun AM).

Specific details for both flying events will be announced in a March briefing email and posted here.

There has also been interest in hosting informational seminars centered around hot air balloon construction and certification during the EBAA event. The EBAA is currently looking for volunteers to speak in an informal setting about a topic of their choice. Suggested topics include material sourcing, CAD & pattern design, construction techniques, FAA certification/regulation, and maintenance. These will be relatively free-flowing sessions of about 30 minutes.  If you are interested in presenting, please write a brief proposal and send it to pmavermont@gmail.com by March 1.

There is also a plan to host a small panel of balloonists to discuss experimental ballooning, construction, timely topics, etc. This panel will field pre-submitted and in-person audience questions and speak from their personal expertise.

Both the seminars and the panel session will be recorded and uploaded online for future reference. If you are interested in participating in our panel, please reach out!

Look for the EBAA Meet briefing around mid-March for more information and spread the word about the dates and new events!
